Mi A3 is the first smartphone we meet to be powered by the Snapdragon™ 665 chipset. Qualcomm® Snapdragon™ 665 AIE processor Packing quite the punch, the Qualcomm® Snapdragon™ 665 AIE delivers the power you need for a superior gaming or browsing experience. With 11nm technology, this processor helps save battery for uninterrupted work and play.
Now that we are well acquainted with the basics of the Snapdragon 665 chipset, let us check out its benchmark scores, Performance and Battery Life.
Mi A3: Benchmarks:
Xiaomi did took a slight step forward improving from SD 660 to the SD 665 from Mi A2 to the Mi A3. Honestly there was not much changes on this SoC but the downgrade of 2.2Ghz down to 2.0Ghz might mean a lot for some people. The GPU did get a lot better as well as the AI Camera thats for sure. The SD 665 is powered together with the Adreno 610, and of course an ample serving of 4GB of RAM, it will give you an above average performance in both multitaksing and gaming category, running PUBG and NBA2k19 was not really a problem its just that we cannot set it to the maximum graphic setting. the best midrange experience up to date. AnTuTu benchmark gave it a 176395 point out of the box which is the expected score for this processor.
Mi A3: Performance:
While using the Mi A3, we did not face any lags or stuttering, and the Snapdragon 665 SoC in this phone could run apps without any issues. We had the 4GB RAM variant of the Mi A3 in for review and we could multitask easily without having to kill apps in the background. Apps loaded without any fuss too. The in-display fingerprint scanner is positioned slightly lower on the Mi A3 compared to some of the other smartphones with the same technology. However, it isn't inconvenient and is not slow to unlock the smartphone.
PUBG Mobile defaulted to the low quality preset with the graphics set to Smooth and frame rate set to Medium. We bumped the graphics quality up to Balanced, and the Mi A3 could still play the game without any stutter or lag. After playing the game for 30 minutes, we noticed that the smartphone was slightly warm to the touch, and had registered a 7 percent battery drop.
Mi A3: Battery Life:
The Mi A3 delivers 4030mAh(typ) Battery, Good battery life compared to the Mi A2. In our HD video loop test, the Mi A3 went on for 15 hours and 34 minutes. With our regular usage, which consisted of running all benchmarks, taking photos and videos, and using an active WhatsApp account, each full charge lasted us about a day and a half. The supplied 10W charger managed to take the Mi A3 to 27 percent in 30 minutes, and to 54 percent in an hour. We would recommend that you invest in an 18W fast charger if you wish to speed this up.
