It's finally weekend and I had to test the new Mi 8 Lite's camera performance and capabilities. |
The Xiaomi Mi 8 Lite has a rear camera that adopts the trendy "iPhone like" design which is horizontally aligned. Its front and rear camera use Sony's flagship sensor. The rear camera is IMX363, which is the same as the Xiaomi Mi 8 in the DXO tycoon.
The dual main camera has a 12MP, f/1.9, 1/2.55", 1.4um, dual pixel PDAF 5MP, f/2.0, 1.12um, depth sensor.
These photos were not post processed and was uploaded fresh from the camera.

The sharpness and color rendering of the Mi 8 Lite is above average. The light condition when I took this photo is just enough to take a perfect shadows and highlights the this orangy stairs.

The yellow one. Here, I want to test the clarity of the camera. The smudges of the yellow stairs, yes we can clearly see it.

Testing how the AI camera analyzes the highlight section of the photo. I had to capture everytime the color changes.

Here, I had to test how it renders the contrast if the camera is pointed on the highlighted part of the subject. The dark cloudy background creates a dramatic effect to the subject/foreground. So far it gives me an absolute best shot.

Overall, the Xiaomi Mi 8 Lite's AI dual camera is the best I've seen so far compared to my previous Mi smartphones.
