After selling over one million Redmi Note 4 units in 45 days in India, Xiaomi has officially launched its latest budget smartphone Redmi 4a in India. The device will be available exclusively on Amazon and Mi.com starting 23rd March.
In terms of specifications Redmi 4A has a 12.7cm 5-inch HD in a polycarbonate body and fully laminated display packed with pixels for HD resolution It also has Read mode, which prevents eye fatigue by reducing blue light rays from the screen. Colour temperature can also be adjusted based on your preference - warm, standard, or cool. The phone runs MIUI 8 based on Android 6.0. In terms of storage the device will be available with 2GB of RAM and 16 GB internal storage capacity with expandable storage of up to 12GB.
Redmi 4A is powered by the large-capacity 3120mAh (typ)/ 3030mAh (min) battery, it guarantees up to an average 7-day standby time. Despite its large capacity battery, Redmi 4A stays amazingly slim and light at a mere 131.5g. It is housed in a seamless, polycarbonate body that boasts a super smooth matte finish, it is the lightest ever device in the Redmi series. It has a 13MP primary camera with f2.2 aperture that is capable of full HD video recording and a 5MP front facing camera for perfect selfies. Some other features include 4G, VoLTE, WiFi, Bluetooth 4.1, GPS, IR blaster and FM radio.
At the launch event, Mi India announced that it was the largest smartphone brand in India, with a 30 percent share in the market. The company also revealed that it has started its second manufacturing plant in India, in Sricity Andhra Pradesh, which is owned and operated by Foxconn.
In Addition to all this Mi india also announced that Redmi 3s and 3s prime successor is coming soon but for that fans have to wait.
What's new about the device is that the company has put in a huge effort to make it for India with the phone supporting 13 Indian languages, New SMS feature which is coming very soon has been given a facelift by making it a lot more interactive and looking at the demand for their product, the company is also launching a pre-order feature on its Mi.com portal very soon where the consumers will be able to pre-order smartphones even when they are out of stock.
Redmi 4a has been priced at Rs. 5999 and is available in three colors Dark Grey, Gold and Rose Gold and will go on for sale starting 23rd March via Amazon and Mi.com, whereas the special Rose Gold color variant will go on sale exclusively via Mi.com from April 6 during Mi Fan Festival.
