Xiaomi has launched its brand in the market of Vietnam on 15th March 2017, they brought series of very popular smartphones Mi Mix, Redmi Note 4 and Redmi 4A.
Xiaomi has officially introduced Digiworld as their distributor of products and its service in Vietnam and given a document signed with the participation of Mr. Thieu Phuong Name (general manager of Qualcomm Vietnam South), Wang Xiang (senior vice president, Xiaomi), Mr. Doan Hong (the Chairman and general manager of Digiworld) and other Xiaomi's major partners and representatives.
The selling price of Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 3GB RAM and 32GB of internal memory is 4,690,000 dong ($206). The selling price of the Redmi 4A, 2GB RAM and 16GB of internal memory is 2,690,000 dong ($118) while the 2GB of RAM, 32GB of internal memory is 2,990,000 dong ($131). Xiaomi Mi Mix 18K gold plated version, 6GB of RAM and 256GB of memory is priced at 16,990,000 dong ($746).
Xiaomi products will be available at retailers nationwide and through the online shopping platform Lazada exclusively. The new partnership is going to provide warranty support only for the original owner of the device, not to anyone else to avoid a resale market.
During the event, in addition to the Xiaomi smartphones they also introduced Mi Router HD and Mi Router Pro. Xiaomi has not yet announced a specific time of sale for the routers in the Vietnam market.
In addition, Xiaomi also introduced community page c.mi.com/vn and Mi Community applications to connect users with each other and share their love for Xiaomi and it's products.
"Xiaomi is in no rush to expand internationally, but will explore overseas markets gradually, starting with neighboring markets," Xiaomi CEO Lei Jun said last week. Xiaomi became one of the top three smartphone brands in India last year and also expanded its market into Russia, Pakistan, UAE and Indonesia. Xiaomi started to expand overseas three years ago and is now active in over 20 countries and regions worldwide.
